Alfred Molina, Geena Davis and Alfre Woodard built their careers across decades of iconic roles before landing in The Boroughs' suspiciously serene retirement community.
“We've all been around a bit," Molina told Tudum in May 2026. "None of us have got anything to prove. When you reach a certain age, we’ve all learned how to take the job seriously, but ourselves not at all. And that makes for a very easy atmosphere.”
Released on Netflix in May 2026, the Matt and Ross Duffer-produced sci-fi thriller follows a misfit group of retirees-turned-unlikely heroes as they uncover a dark supernatural secret at the heart of their picture-perfect New Mexico retirement community.

Before he was the reluctant hero of The Boroughs, Molina was making a name for himself in classic films like Chocolat, The Da Vinci Code and Frida. However, he's probably best known for playing Doctor Octopus in Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Denis O'Hare as Wally Baker

In the Netflix series, Denis O'Hare stars as Wally Baker, a retired doctor who the actor described as "sort of a joke — until he’s not" in a May 2026 interview with Tudum. A longtime TV staple, fans will likely recognize O'Hare from his roles in American Horror Story, True Blood and The Good Fight, as well as movies like Dallas Buyers Club.

Playing retired journalist Judy Daniels in The Boroughs is just one of many film and TV credits Woodard has earned over her 50 years in the business. The Emmy-winning actress even joked with PEOPLE in May 2026 that she forgets the specifics of her extensive catalog — which includes Love & Basketball, See and The Last Frontier — "all the time."

Though Clarke Peters has been stealing scenes long before he started playing the deeply spiritual Art Daniels, he had never done something like The Boroughs. Though The Wire star told The Observerin May 2026 he was hesitant about "chasing monsters" into his 80s at first, he's glad he was talked into joining the cast.

The supernatural nature of the series may have been new to some stars, but not Davis. She told Tudum that she relates to the "colorful past" of her character, a former music manager named Renee. "I’ve been the girlfriend of a fly and the girlfriend of an alien and things like that," the Thelma & Louise actress told Tudum. "So I have some experience in this sort of far-out world.”

Bill Pullman portrays The Boroughs resident life-of-the-party, Jack Willard. Though the longtime actor — who's starred in shows like The Sinner as well as films like Independence Day and The Equalizer — was hesitant about joining another series, he told Deadlinein May 2026 that he couldn't miss out on a "great premise" with "a great group of people."

While his résumé isn't quite as lengthy as his Boroughs costars, Seth Numrich has made a name for himself in series like Under the Banner of Heaven, Turn: Washington Spies and The Blacklist. He plays Blaine Shaw in the show, the CEO of the retirement community who works tirelessly to keep it perfect.
