Artist Charlotte Filbert shared heartfelt memories of her time with Robin Williams on the anniversary of his death

Filbert posted photos and recalled moments with Williams, including gifts he gave her and their shared laughter

Williams’ children continue to honor him annually on his birthday and the anniversary of his death

Robin Williams‘ ex-girlfriend is sharing her memories of the late actor on the anniversary of his death.

Artist Charlotte Filbert was linked with the late actor between 2007 and 2009, when the two were reported to be attending events together after Williams purchased some of her work.

In a post to Instagram on Tuesday, Aug. 11, Filbert shared a carousel of images of the two from their time together, writing in a caption: “12 years ago, you had to go somewhere else. I miss your voicemails. You mattered. You changed me. You made the world feel bigger.”

The carousel shows Filbert holding framed selfies of the two, and toys he had given her during their time together.

“I wish we were in a bookstore somewhere, having coffee, laughing holding hands,” she added. “I am grateful i got to love you and to be loved by you.”

The caption continued: “Sometimes I tell friends about the time I climbed up into your lap, started smushing your face together and said, ‘There you are, Peter,’ and you laughed and laughed. Life is so short. This still f------ hurts. There’s only one you. Thank you for everything.”

“Robin loved this song also toys and collectibles there’s a couple he gave me at the end, a Skeksis from The Dark Crystal. I miss you, Wob,” Filbert added, alluding to the song she selected for the post: “Throwing It All Away” by Genesis.

Williams died by suicide on Aug. 11, 2014 at age 63 after suffering from Lewy Body Dementia, a type of brain disease that affected his thinking, memory and movement control.

The actor shared his eldest child, 43-year-old Zak, with his first wife, Valerie Velardi, and daughter Zelda, 37, and son Cody Alan, 34, with his second wife Marsha Garces.

Williams’ children have made a point to honor the lateMrs. Doubtfire star on his birthday, on July 21, and have also posted remembrances each year on the day he died.

“These days are always hard and I love remembering you for being so very, very YOU,” Zak wrote in a 2023 Instagram post.
