ESPN host Pat McAfee only had to worry about wearing an Indianapolis Colts uniform throughout the 2010s and has the freedom to wear whatever he wants elsewhere, but that failed to stop an online roasting session aimed at him after the former NFL kicker dressed more formally for a WWE broadcast than for a meeting with the U.S. President.
The ESPN personality greeted Donald Trump on a rain-soaked Ohio tarmac Tuesday in a drenched black T-shirt, dark jeans, and a backward white cap. McAfree ironically rocked a pair of black/white Nike Air Force Ones as Trump exited his Air Force One aircraft in front of fans.
Trump earned cheers and chants from MAGA supporters as he pumped his fist in the air alongside McAfee as the duo headed out to attend the 2026 Patriot Games in Ohio. Meanwhile, the NFL secretly changed a rule to allow head coaches to choose a staff member to throw challenge flags.

While the vibes seemed high for McAfee in real time, the internet saw the uploaded clips and immediately turned their attention to McAfee's clothing and hat, which remained backward as he greeted his former ESPN show guest.
The lower portion of McAfee's dark blue-gray jeans appeared to be saturated with rainwater to make the outfit look even more casual alongside Trump's formal suit.

McAfee's white sneakers and hat continued to stand out with every step he took alongside Trump as the internet roasted him for his affiliation with the President just as much as they didn't like his 'fit.
One viewer completely shunned McAfee and wrote, "How about taking off your hat, Pat, when greeting the President? Or at least turn it around."
A second clip viewer called the outfit choice "an absolute embarrassment," while a third theorized that the meeting and positive crowd reaction felt completely staged.
Another video observer added, "What a clown show. You have the privilege of meeting the president of the United States on the tarmac, and you greet him with a backward baseball hat like a child."

McAfee has never presented himself as a traditional broadcaster or shown interest in high fashion. The former NFL kicker has repeatedly shown that he values humor, comfort, and going viral over being a fashionista.
He previously wore a T-shirt tuxedo live on ESPN while covering the College Football Playoff Quarterfinal between Miami and Ohio State last season.
McAfee wore snakeskin cowboy boots, a sleeveless vest, and an outlandish oversized silver belt buckle on Netflix during a live taping of Monday Night Raw last April.
