Jon Stewart torches Donald Trump after he used reporters as 'decoys' amid AF1 threat

Jon Stewart brutally mocked Donald Trump after the president was accused of using White House staff and reporters as "decoys" so he could escape a security threat.

Reports suggest that when President Trump left Turkey after the NATO summit last month, the 80-year-old was hidden inside an airport catering cart before being transferred to a classified military aircraft. The secret move came following intelligence warnings about a possible assassination plot by Iran, a senior U.S. official said.

Journalists hoping to interview Trump on the original plane were seen boarding the aircraft, despite the alleged threat. Stewart discussed the revelation while hosting The Weekly Show podcast on Wednesday, August 12.

Podcast producer Brittany Mehmedovic kicked off the discussion and asked, "Jon, do you think the White House press corps is cool with taking a bullet or a surface to air missile for Trump?" Stewart sarcastically replied, "Absolutely."

Mehmedovic laughed as Stewart continued, "Of course, they would say to themselves, 'If we can be the decoy, sir, if killing us makes you safe, however that would be. Do you want one of us to put on the Trump wig? Do you want us to put on the red tie and do that?'"

Producer Gillian Spear continued the joke, "I'll jump in front of the catering cart myself, sir." Stewart then added, "Whatever it is you want us to do, sir. Do you want us to taste your food to make sure that it is in no way contaminated? Although now, with Kennedy running HHS, you don't know if it's contaminated because of a foreign act of assassination, or there's just diarrhea parasites in everything."

The comedian then praised reporting of the Trump plane fiasco, saying, "Kaitlan Collins, again, because Kailtan Collins she does her research, she says that is not unprecedented that a president has had to change plans based on a certain threat and it wasn't until afterwards that it was explained to the people who remained on the targeted conveyance, 'Hey, by the way, just wanted to let you guys know now that we're here safely, there were a lot lasers being pointed."

Mehmedovic admitted she finds the whole story "so f---ing crazy," before laughing, "Also, the irony of it being a catering truck." Spear added, "It's just like what's always in the movies, too. They're like, 'How do we get you out of here and then there's, like, a little catering cart,' and you're like, 'Oh, it's perfect!'"

Stewart then asked, "Here's the question, did he have to out on the cater waiter outfit?" Spear suggested, "He had a disguise, he dressed as a bellhop."

Daily Show host Stewart finished the joke by saying, "Actually, here's what they did, they brought him in on the big table and it has the little cloche on it. And then they pulled it in, they got the table to the safe location and then they lifted the cloche, 'Are you okay now Mr President?'"

A clip of the podcast was shared on Instagram, with viewers praising Stewart for ripping into Trump. "If only we could have seen the bellhop waiter outfit with his ridiculous wig falling off his worthless head," one person wrote and added a row of laughing crying emojis.

Another fan commented, "“do you want one of us to put on the trump wig?” that broke me. this is why jon is the best!" while someone else fumed, "He used is own staff as a decoy? And the press? Unbelievable."

"Could you just imagine what that catering truck smelled like afterwards?" a third Instagram user asked. "I wouldn’t have eaten any of that food but just my opinion." Another person echoed, "Imagine how much that catering truck stank after he got out. Couldnt be used for food again."
