In the City stars Yvonne Najor and Nick Barber are expecting their first baby together and celebrated with a baby shower
The shower featured a cocktail bar, grazing table and pies from Joe's Pizza, creating a lively party atmosphere
Yvonne's friends and Bravo castmates joined the celebration, which highlighted motherhood and female friendship in a joyful way

The couple, who currently star in Bravo's In the City, are expecting their first baby together, a rep confirms exclusively to PEOPLE. Yvonne and Nick celebrated their happy news by throwing a Where the Wild Things Are-themed baby shower on Saturday, May 30.
"We're beyond excited to become parents and start this next chapter together," the couple tells PEOPLE. "Growing our family is something we've dreamed about for so long, and we feel incredibly lucky to be surrounded by so much love and support as we prepare to welcome our baby."

"Becoming parents is such a big step, and like any couple, we've had a lot of conversations about what the right timing looked like for us," they continue. "You'll see some of that journey unfold this season on In the City as we navigated these decisions together, but standing where we are now, we couldn't be more excited for what's ahead."
Yvonne shares that they chose their baby shower theme because it felt "nostalgic, whimsical and imaginative," which is how they want their baby's childhood to feel.

"It perfectly matched the energy of the celebration, and honestly matches the energy of our wild friend group," she says. "I have worked in hospitality marketing for most of my adult life. And while Nick and I met (like most of us millennials in N.Y.C.) at a club called Acme years ago, throwing parties and events is definitely my arena to be wild — but a playful wild, and fun, while still feeling modern and elevated."

"Plus, it made for some really fun fashion moments. I had all the girls dress in 'jungle' theme to show their wild sides as well," adds the mom-to-be.

The shower featured several of the most important women in Yvonne's life. Her mom, Linda, and mother-in-law, Bonnie, were there, as well as friends from every stage of her life.

"From my best friends since I was 13, to the friendships I've built in New York, including my BFF Lindsay Hubbard, and of course my castmates Georgina Ferzil, Lexi Sundin, Whitney Fransway, Danielle Olivera and Katie Deluca," she says. "It truly felt like a celebration of friendship just as much as a celebration of our baby. The guys joined later in the day, which made everything feel even more fun and celebratory."

Yvonne's best friends hosted the event and planned everything — all she asked was that the day feel fun.
"I'm one of the last in my overall friend group to become a mom, and I wanted this to feel more like a 'moms gone wild' celebration than a traditional baby shower," she shares. "I wanted everyone dancing, laughing, getting loose, and celebrating motherhood and female friendship in the only way I really know how — with joy, energy and a really good party."

There was a "Wild Things" cocktail bar, which served drinks in over-the-top animal-themed vessels, as well as a grazing table with all of Yvonne's favorite snacks. At the end of the night, guests were treated to pies from Joe's Pizza.

"Honestly, seeing all of my favorite people in one room celebrating this moment with us was incredibly emotional," Yvonne says. "The energy was amazing from beginning to end, and I loved watching everyone just let go, dance on tables, and have fun together."
