Cristiano Ronaldo is married!

The Portuguese soccer star, 41, tied the knot with his longtime partner, model Georgina Rodríguez, in a civil ceremony on August 11, 2026 in Cascais, Portugal, according to a press release.

Ronaldo shared a photo of the couple’s hands with their wedding bands with the caption: “C❤️G”

The wedding comes one year after Rodríguez, 32, announced their engagement on Instagram on Aug. 11, 2025.

For the big announcement, she shared a picture of her hand over Ronaldo’s, offering a close-up look at her massive, oval-shaped diamond sparkler.

“Sí, quiero. En esta y en todas mis vidas,” Rodríguez wrote in the caption, which translates to, “Yes, I do. In this and in all my lives.”

The couple shares five children: twins Eva Maria and Mateo, 8, daughter Alana, 8, daughter Bella, 4, and 15-year-old son Cristiano Jr., whom Ronaldo welcomed in a previous relationship.

He and Rodríguez previously announced the death of Bella’s newborn twin brother, Ángel, in April 2022.

Ronaldo first met Rodríguez when she was working as a sales assistant at a Gucci store in 2017. That January, the two made their red carpet debut at the Best FIFA Football Awards in Zurich. By May, they made things Instagram official when Ronaldo posted a photo of himself and Rodríguez.

In Rodríguez’s 2022 Netflix reality series, I Am Georgina, Ronaldo opened up about the early days of their romance.

The athlete said he thought his now-wife was a “very interesting girl, so much more mature for her age.” Rodríguez noted that they “had a very special start” to their romance.

At first, Ronaldo didn’t believe things would go far, but he was ultimately proven wrong when he fell in love with Rodríguez.

He told viewers in confessional footage that he “didn’t think at the beginning that [the relationship] would be this strong, that I would fall in love with her. I didn’t expect it, honestly. But after a while, I felt that she was the woman of my life.”

Reflecting on Ronaldo’s surprise marriage proposal in a December 2025 interview with Elle Spain, Rodríguez shared that she was “shocked” in the moment. “The truth is, when he proposed, it was the last thing on my mind,” she told the magazine. “It took me a long time to process the enormous stone he gave me. I was so shocked that I left it in my room and didn’t open it in the sunlight until the next day.”

As for her jaw-dropping ring, she declared it “gorgeous,” before joking, “It’s the least he could offer me after 10 years of waiting.”
